The 7th ranked Nebraska volleyball team made their first trip back to the Creighton campus since 1980 and swept the Bluejays in front of a sellout crowd of just over 2,500 fans at Sokol Arena Tuesday evening. Game scores were 26-24, 25-18, 25-15.
Creighton led most of the first set, with leads of 23-18 and 24-21, but NU scored the final five points to take the set. The second set had 13 ties and seven lead changes, before NU pulled away late by scoring eight of the final nine points. NU never trailed in the final set, pulling away with an impressive third set win.
Creighton was led by 10 kills from Alicia Runge and NU got 10 kills from Brooke Delano, nine from Tara Mueller and Gina Mancuso, and eight each from Hannay Werth and Jordan Wilberger.
Nebraska improved to 2-1 on the year and is now 13-0 all-time against Creighton. The Bluejays are now 1-3 this fall.
