The Creighton women’s soccer team rallied late against North Dakota State for a 2-2 tie in double overtime. The tie puts the Jays at 2-2-2 overall this season, and 0-2-1 at Morrison Stadium.
The Jays got on the board first when Lauren Cingoranelli took a feed from Emily Orbell just outside the box and buried it just six minutes into the match. The goal is Cingoranelli’s second on the season and it is Orbell’s third assist on the season.
The Bison answered back seven minutes later on one of their five first half corner kicks. Michelle Gaffaney scored the tying goal and then the Bison scored again in the half in the 24th minute when Quin Ryan scored her second of the season on a pass from Katie Tallas.
The Jays tied up the match in the 77th minute when Erin Gunther sent a ball down the near sideline that Brittney Neumann took across the baseline and rocketed toward the keeper. The ball bounced off the hands of the Bison goalkeeper and into the net. It is Neumann’s second goal of the season and Gunther’s second assist.
