Wayne State, coming off of their 63-6 win over Minnesota-Crookston finds themselves ranked 18th in this week’s Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. Nebraska-Kearney who was idle remained at #23.
The Lopers will host Mesa State this Saturday, while the Wildcats head up north to take on second ranked Minnesota-Duluth.
In other news around Division II. Valdosta State beat Newberry, 45-17, and Tusculum moved its record to 3-0 after a 54-30 win over FCS-member Western Carolina, moving both teams into the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll at No. 20 and No. 24, respectively.
Grand Valley State still holds down the No. 1 ranking after beating then-No. 11 Hillsdale, 44-41. The Lakers received 23 of a possible 26 first-place votes. Minnesota-Duluth still sits No. 2 and received one first-place vote while No. 3 North Alabama received the final two first place votes. California (Pa.) and Abilene Christian round out the Top 5.
