The Nebraska soccer team snapped the Iowa Hawkeye’s seven game winning streak by winning 3-1 on Sunday. The Huskers are off to their best start since the 2001 season. NU is 7-2 heading into Friday’s Big 12 opener.
Sophomore Jordan Jackson scored two goals. The first came in the final minute of the first half, then after Iowa tied the game in the 63rd minute, Jackson scored again less than three minutes later. That was here her fifth goal of the season. Leading scorer Morgan Marlborough converted a penalty kick to give the Huskers a two-goal margin.
Redshirt freshman keeper Emma Stevens made a key second-half save to record her second victory of the season.
