Defense was the name of the game for the Nebraska volleyball team as the 3rd ranked Huskers remains unbeaten in the Big 12 following their three set sweep over Missouri with game scores of 21-18-16 in Columbia. The Huskers hit .326 for the game and their record under John Cook is 177-0 when they hit better than .300 for a match.
The Huskers were able to quiet the rest of the Tigers despite a solid effort from their senior outside hitter Paola Ampudia who led Mizzou with 14 kills, tallying nearly half of the Tigers’ 30 kills on the night. NU held Missouri to .097 hitting as Tara Mueller tied her career best with five blocks, and Brooke Delano led all players with six blocks.
Mizzou struggled to slow the Husker attack as it hit .326 on the match, highlighted by an .857 clip from middle hitter Brooke Delano. She posted 14 kills on 16 attacks without an error. Nebraska libero Kayla Barnwarth also played well with 18 digs in the three sets.
