Over 100 volunteers from Nebraska and several other states will once again conduct a search for 33 year old Jennifer Anderson. She disappeared on March 9th. Jennifer was last seen at her home in Omaha. Several days after her disappearance her car was found in the parking lot of Rick’s Boatyard Cafe that is located near the Qwest Center and the Missouri River. Jennifer’s mother, Karen Anderson says they requested the search and people responded.
“People from our home town. From the hospital where she worked, Methodist. UNO. Doane College.”
Anderson is from Sutton, Nebraska and says people from home and from all over are helping with the search.
“A lot of friends. A lot of co-workers. A lot of people who care about Jenny and want to bring her home.”
Anderson says a number of professional agencies are also assisting.
“Search the banks of the river. ATV’s will be there. They will have people searching areas away form the bank of the pongee. Cadaver dogs.”
Anderson says the last update they received in the investigation was the discovery of her vehicle. Unfortunately it had rained and that may have washed away clues to what happened or her whereabouts.
“Could have been there the same night she left or early morning that she left or it could of shown up there later. We don’t know.”
US ATV Search & Rescue, team Watters Sonar – specialists in underwater side imaging, seven search dogs and over 100 volunteers will continue the search starting at 10 Saturday morning. They will gather and search the area where her vehicle was found.
