The Nebraska soccer team stole a game from the Big 12 Champion Missouri Tigers after falling behind quickly by two goals. The Huskers bounced back strong in the second half for a 4-2 win.
Mizzou didn’t waste any time. In the third minute of play, The Tigers scored the opening goal and took a 2-0 lead in the 11th minute from Kendra Collins, her third of the season.
The Huskers came out with goals in the 48th minute the 58th minute to tie the game. Megan Marlborough assisted on Alexa Cardona’s goal to put NU on the board. Ten minutes later, Marlborough assisted on midfielder Colleen Goetzmann’s goal, here second in the past three games. NU continued its offensive pressure to come up with the game-winner in the 62nd minute from Jordan Jackson.
Marlborough, the only player ahead of Jackson in the Big 12 point standings, scored for a school-record eighth straight match with an unassisted goal in the 76th minute to cap the win.
