After Monday’s first round of the girls’ high school golf championships, all defending individual champions from last year lead after the first day.
In Class A, Omaha Marian, going for their sixth straight title leads the team event with 335, 14 strokes of Lincoln Southwest.

Lincoln East’s Jacqueline O’Doherty, last year’s individual champ has a one stroke lead over Sophie Peters of Fremont. In Class B, Scottsbluff leads with 338, ahead of McCook by 11.

Defending champ Sabrina King of Scottsbluff leads after the first round as well after shooting a 78. She has a one stroke lead over teammate Kaylee Koeppen. In Class C, it is a little closer in the team scores as Grand Island Central Catholic, 372 is up six on Columbus Scotus 378.
