The Class A finals will be held at the Koch Family Tennis Center in Omaha on Thursday and Friday, while the Nebraska Tennis Center in Lincoln hosts the Class B finals.
Creighton Prep is the only Class A school with a seeded player in the top five of every division. Leading Prep is senior Matt Hagan who is undefeated at 24-0. He has the number one seed. An interesting matchup could come in the finals if Grant Tesmer, Class A’s second seed gets to the finals with Hagan. Tesmer has just two losses, both of them coming against Hagan. Creighton Prep is shooting for their ninth team title in the last ten years.
Just as Prep in Class A, Lincoln Pius X, a two-time team champion, is the only school to boast a top four seed or higher in the rankings. One long winning streak is on the line this weekend in Class B as the defending singles champion Connor Larson of McCook brings a 72 match winning streak into state play.
First-round matches begin at 8 a.m. Thursday for Class A and 9 a.m. for Class B, with continuous play through the quarterfinals. Semifinals are slated for 9 a.m. Friday in both classes, and the finals are set for 1 p.m.
