Nebraska women’s basketball senior Dominique Kelley was named honorable-mention from the Big 12 coaches as the preseason all-conference teams were announced. The former Lincoln Northeast grad averaged 12.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game helping the Huskers to 32-2 overall record.
Dominique needs just 62 points to become the 26th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points. The highlight of Kelley’s season last year, in helping NU get to their first Sweet 15 appearance, she poured in 22 points in a win over #22 UCLA and scored 22 more against #19 Kentucky in the regional semis.
Kelley tied Kelsey Griffin for the team lead with 18.3 ppg in the tournament. Kelley will look to lead NU to her third visit to the NCAA tournament in her career.
