A two vehicle crash on Highway 34, in Lancaster County, Monday afternoon claimed the life of a 10 year old Seward girl .A car driven by the girls father Keith Cox 39 of Seward was headed east on Highway 34… A pickup driven by Dana Seevers, 43 of Seward was headed west when a horse trailer being pulled by the pickup came loose striking the car nearly head-on. The crash occurred about a mile west of the Highway 34/79 Junction. Killed in the crash was Kasey Cox, 10, of Seward. Her brother, Korbin Cox, 9, sustained critical injuries. The father and the boy were transported to a Lincoln hospital, the father with non-life threatening injuries. Seevers was not injured. A horse inside the trailer was injured and had to be put down. The Nebraska State Patrol was assisted by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the Raymond Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad. Seat belts were not in use. The investigation into the crash continues.
