The Creighton men’s soccer team has moved into the top-10 in three national polls. The Bluejays, who had been ranked 11th in the NSCAA poll in each of the previous two weeks, are now ranked 10th to crack the top-10 for the first time since last September. College Soccer News and Soccer Times both have the Bluejays at No. 10 this week as well.
The only poll to not rank the Jays in the top-10 is Soccer America, where the Bluejays moved from No. 16 to No. 11 this week.
Creighton is 10th in the NCAA in shutout percentage (.550), with six shutouts in 11 matches. The Jays rank 19th in the NCAA with 2.1 goals per game. Ethan Finlay ranks fourth in the NCAA in both goals scored (10) and goals per game (0.9). Finlay’s 1.91 points per game rank sixth in the NCAA and his 21 points rank 12th in the nation. Jose Gomez ranks sixth in the NCAA in assists per game (0.7) and eighth with seven assists. Dion Acoff ranks 14th in the NCAA in assists per game (0.6) and 18th with six assists.
Creighton (9-2-0, 2-0-0 MVC) continues its four-game road trip with a match at Drake (6-5-2, 2-0-1 MVC) tonight. The Bulldogs have not lost in their last 11 home matches, while the Bluejays have not lost a regular-season road match since 2006 (13-0-7).
