Senior cornerback Prince Amukamara picked up another national honor when he was named one of eight semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, presented annually to the defensive player who has the biggest IMPACT on his team, on and off the field. IMPACT stands for integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity.
Amukamara was also named one of 10 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award earlier this month, which goes to the nation’s best defensive back.
Amukamara has 10 pass breakups this season and has only allowed 11 pass completions. He is a big reason Nebraska ranks in the top five in pass efficiency defense.
