The 2010-11 Huskers will come in with more experience this season and the expectations are in place to improve on a 15-18 record from a season ago. Tonight, the first test begins at the Devaney Center as the Huskers host South Dakota.
Doc Sadler has 10 lettermen returning from a year ago, including four players (Lance Jeter, Jorge Brian Diaz, Brandon Ubel and Brandon Richardson) who made at least 15 starts. Richardson, who sprained his ankle in one of NU’s exhibition games says he is not 100%, but is healthy enough to give it a go.
In addition to those players, NU also brings back sophomore Christian Standhardinger, junior Toney McCray, sophomore Ray Gallegos and sophomore Eshaunte Jones. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
Sadler announced that three high school seniors have signed National Letters-of-Intent to attend NU next season, including point guard Corey Hilliard Jr. (Raytown, Mo.) and wing players Josiah Moore (Norcross, Ga.) and David Rivers (Little Rock, Ark.).
