The City of Grand Island’s gang problem was delivered a huge blow to their efforts Thursday Morning, and a gang with international ties believed responsible for much of the Central Nebraska city’s crime has been significantly weakened.
Weysan Dun, Special Agent in charge of the Omaha Office of the FBI said, Thursday afternoon that over the past 24 hours, 12 people were arrested on a combination of federal drug and firearms charges.
The Two other suspects, Andrew Esquitin and Adrian Casares are being sought and are considered to be fugitives. If you have any information on the suspects at large you are urged to call the Grand Island Police Department at 308-385-5400. The arrests removed most of The leaders of the East Side Locos. Grand Island Police Chief Steve Lamken says without the effort of the 120 law enforcement officials today’s arrests would not have been possible.
FBI officials say the East Side Locos had its origins in Southern California’s Sureno gang.
