Nebraska’s Jordan Hooper was named Big 12 Freshman-of-the-Week for the second time in the first three weeks of the season. Hooper, averaged 20.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in a pair of Nebraska victories last week. She hit 19-of-25 shots from the field, including 2-of-3 three-point attempts in Nebraska wins over Washington State and Nebraska-Omaha.
Just how good is Hooper? The 6’2 forward from Alliance, NE. leads all Big 12 freshmen with 85 points and needs just 15 more to become the fastest freshman in history to 100 career points. Kelsey Griffin owns the mark with her 100th point coming in the first minute of her seventh career game in 2005-06.
Hooper has a chance at that record tonight when the 5-0 Huskers put their 36 game regular winning streak on the line when the host UNLV.
