The Denver Broncos fired their head coach Josh McDaniels before he could finish his second season. Following Sunday’s 10-6 loss at Kansas City, the Broncos fell to 3-9 on the year.
Denver won their first six games under McDaniels in his first year, but they stumbled and failed to make the playoffs in 2009. Since that 6-0 start, the Broncos have lost 17 of their last 22.
According to ESPN.com, the Broncos are trying to find a way to void McDaniels’ contract for the videotaping of San Francisco’s practice, so they don’t have to pay three head coaches next season. McDaniels is still under contract as is Mike Shanahan who now coaches at Washington.
