Catheryn Redmon led the Nebraska women’s basketball team with 16 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots, as NU beat the Bears of Northern Colorado 66-53 on Saturday night.
Sophomore forward Katya Leick added a career-high 15 points to go along with six rebounds, while Jordan Hooper scored all 11 of her points in the second half. Hooper played just four first-half minutes after picking up her second foul.
Hooper and senior guard Dominique Kelley played just 19 minutes in the game for NU because of foul trouble. Kelley finished with seven points, two rebounds and three assists, while hitting both of her field goal attempts and all three of her free throws.
NU improves to 8-1 on the year.
