A police chase and stand-off ended peacefully on Monday afternoon. A state trooper tried to stop a pickup truck along Highway 14 in Antelope County. The truck matched the description of one that had filled up driven away from a gas station in Neligh without paying. The driver of the pickup refused to stop and the pursuit lasted some 15 minutes, until the truck got stuck in a snowdrift near Brunswick. The driver refused to get out of the truck and with all the snow, it was tough for officers to approach him. Nearly two hours after the incident began, the man got out and was arrested. 33-year-old Bryan Gloe of Neligh faces several charges including: Flight to Avoid Arrest, Theft, and Resisting Arrest.
