Nebraska forward Christian Standhardinger has left the team to explore other basketball options. The German native said in a statement, “I’m a young man who is trying to make the right decision to be able to eventually provide and take care of my family.”
Standhardinger averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in six games, but was suspended by head coach Doc Sadler four games for academic reasons. Last season, Standhardinger played in just 16 games last season after becoming eligible, where he averaged 8.1 points in 3.8 rebounds in 16 games.
Coach Doc Sadler said that Standhardinger will consider transferring to another school or playing professionally overseas.
