Sophomore point guard Lindsey Moore became the first Husker to record a triple-double. Moore finished with 12 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds and freshmen Jordan Hooper led Nebraska in scoring with 20 points as NU closes out non-conference play with a 73-57 win over Florida A & M.
It was NU’s 28th straight win at home and now will look to tie the school record when they open Big 12 play on Saturday with #15 Oklahoma.
The Huskers opened a 24-12 lead to start the game hitting 9-of-15 shots, including 4-of-8 three-pointers, but Florida A&M rallied to actually take the lead. The Rattlers got 10 first-half points from Tameka McKelton and nine on a trio of three-pointers from Christian Rateree to bring FAMU back. McKelton’s three-pointer with 2:48 left in the half gave the Rattlers their first lead of the game at 32-31.
NU opened the second half with an 8-0 run as the Huskers held FAMU to just one field goal in the first ten minutes of the second half.
