Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning has announced five legislative initiatives for the upcoming session. One bill is sponsored by Senator Beau McCoy of Omaha and bans chemical compounds used to make more dangerous forms of marijuana such as K-2. McCoy says someone actually called the state to find out what the laws were regarding K-2 to see what forms could be legally sold here. That is what tipped him off to the need for this bill. Bruning’s other legislative priorities include making it a crime to throw bodily fluids at peace officers, stopping the use of intoxication as a defense to committing a crime, and adopting an electronic log of those buying meth making materials like cold pills sold behind the counter.
