A Nebraska plumbing company is facing federal fines after the deaths of two workers from Iowa.
Speedy Rooter, based in South Sioux City, Nebraska, is being accused of a half-dozen safety violations by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Last July, employees Robert Thompson and Chad Elgert, both of Sioux City, Iowa, were overcome by fumes while trying to unclog a sewer in North Sioux City, South Dakota.
The OSHA report says Speedy Rooter failed to properly train its workers and had a blatant disregard for safe worker practices. Proposed fines exceed 94-thousand dollars.
