There is more gun violence to report in the Omaha metro area. An employee of the Shell Rapid Lube and Oil at 114th and West Center Road was gunned down around 11:15 Thursday morning. Omaha Police Lt. Greg Gonzales says one man was injured.
“All I know right now is he sustained one gunshot wound and is in critical condition.”
The victim is apparently an employee of the business. Witnesses say the suspect took off in a small red car with Iowa license plates. Although the name and condition of the victim have not been officially released, scanner traffic reported CPR was in progress and there was no pulse.
Sam Jorgensen was passing by as officers responded to the shooting this morning. This shooting, combined with yesterday’s Millard South tragedy is cause for great concern.
“Something like that can happen this quick. The next day something happens and you think “what the heck is going on into the new year”. Any time, any place.”
It is not known if the robbery was the motive for today’s shooting. The investigation is underway.
