Nebraska will start their final Big 12 conference schedule with a 10 game win streak after getting past Savannah State 68-48.
Savannah State, coming off a 92-61 loss Monday at Kansas State, led NU 20-17 late in the first half, but NU closed the first half and started the second on a 22-4 run. Center Brian Diaz scored 13 points in the second half, the only Husker in double figures. NU’s other center, Andre Almeida had eight points and five blocks.
With the win, Nebraska has now won 10 straight games, the longest winning streak by the program since a 10-game win streak during the 1994-95 season. The Huskers also finished the non-conference season on a 24-game home winning streak.
It will be a Big 12 opener double header. The women play #15 Oklahoma at 2pm, then the men follow against Iowa State at 7pm at the Devaney Center.
