A slow moving snowstorm continues to target Nebraska and Iowa Monday. Kathy Zapotocny is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office in Valley and says snowfall will remain with us for a while.
“It will continue to press eastward into Iowa throughout the afternoon and we will see the light snow tapering to flurries tonight.”
Zapotocny says the good news is that the snow will end. The bad news is strong winds will follow.
“However, once we see the snow lighten up then the winds will turn around to the north tonight and increase.”
Zapotocny says the snow will taper off this evening but not without leaving its mark.
“We are looking at anywhere from six to ten inches across the area.”
Along with the strong winds, temperatures will drop into the sub-zero range.
