Following a 63-62 win over Iowa State in its Big 12 opener, the Nebraska men’s basketball team will put its 11 game win streak on the line when the Huskers face the #15/12 Missouri Tigers at Mizzou Arena.
An interesting stat from Huskers.com…Nebraska is first in the Big 12 and second nationally in points per game allowed (53.5), while Missouri leads the Big 12 and is fifth nationally in points per game (85.8). Nebraska has not allowed 70 points in 11 games, while Missouri has scored more than 70 points in its last seven contests.
The Tigers (14-2, 0-1 Big 12) saw a nine-game win streak end when they lost to Colorado, 89-76 on the road. Marcus Denmon leads the Tigers with 17.0 points per game and is hitting nearly 50 percent from three-point range.
In addition to solid guard play which is the norm for Mike Anderson coached teams, they also have a strong front court with Laurence Bowers and last year’s JUCO player of the year Ricardo Ratliffe. Bowers had 15 points, seven rebounds and eight blocked shots in the Colorado game.
