The Huskers losing streak against Kansas is now at 16, but Nebraska showed up at Allen Fieldhouse looking for a fight and had a 10-point second half lead only to see the Jayhawks battle back for a 63-60 win over the Huskers.
One thing I’ve seen from Nebraska is their ability to force teams into the slow pace, half court game Doc Sadler likes to play. Along with that came grit and effort as the Huskers outrebounded KU 39-31.
Lance Jeter led NU with 13 points, Andre Almeida came off the bench with 10. Andre said it best after the game. “We came in here to win, we’re not happy with it (the loss). It was a good game and we were close but almost isn’t good enough.”
NU will leave the Big 12 and Allen Fieldhouse with an overall record of 7-51 in Lawrence.
