Late last week, Kevin Meyer, the head football coach at his hometown Fremont high school announced he was stepping down after leading the team since 1999. Meyer cited too many outside distractions for his reason for stepping down. His resignation came after two 1-8 seasons. Here is the story from the Fremont Tribune.
This story comes from the Hastings Tribune, this past Saturday, the Hastings Parks and Rec Department hosted their inaugural snow softball tournament. Three co-ed teams braved 20 degree temperatures and a snow covered diamond where the key to this game was just standing in the batters box let alone try to hit the ball and when the ball was hit, it was normally buried under snow. This was the first year and hopefully not the last as one of the women who played yelled “This has to be the dumbest idea ever.”
