Sophomore Toney McCray tied his career high with 18 points, as the Nebraska men’s basketball team used a strong start to the second half to get past previously unbeaten Colorado 79-67. The Huskers even their record to 2-2 in conference play while the Buffaloes are now 3-1.
McCray, who played a season-high 30 minutes, was an impressive 8-of-14 from the floor and also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Jorge Brian-Diaz hit 7-of-8 shots for 14 points. senior guards Lance Jeter and Drake Beranek also pitched in 10 points apiece as Nebraska placed four Huskers in double figures.
NU won their 13th straight home contest thanks to shooting 56.6% from the floor for the game and 64% in the second half as the Huskers expanded on a 31-30 lead at the break by using a 13-2 run to open the second half and take control of the game.
