It was a weekend of fantastic finishes in Division II women’s basketball.
Junior reserve Lea Ann Jameson hit a turnaround three pointer as time expired to lift Nebraska-Kearney to a 78-76 overtime win over Colorado-Colorado Springs Friday night. In the extra session, Colorado Springs was ahead 76-75. With 0.3 seconds left, Jameson came off a screen, caught the ball, turned and made about a 21-footer to win the game.
The Nebraska-Omaha women snapped a four game losing streak and upset the #6th ranked team in D-II basketball Washburn with a 87-83 win. Heather Pohl scored a career high 29 points.
Wayne State is sure to move up in the national rankings thanks to UNO. The Lady Wildcats were ranked 7th in the nation and beat Upper Iowa 80-42 for their 15th straight win of the season to remain undefeated in Northern Sun Conference play.
