The Wayne State College women’s basketball team moved up one spot to sixth in this week’s Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll. It’s the highest ever regular season ranking for the Wildcat women’s basketball team, who received a season-high 548 points and one first place vote in voting conducted by various Division II head coaches from across the country.
The 16-1 Wildcats, who have won 15 games in a row and lead the Northern Sun Conference with a perfect 13-0 league record, defeated Winona State 76-52 and Upper Iowa 80-42 last weekend to extend its current home court win streak at Rice Auditorium to 22 consecutive games. Wayne State will be on the road this weekend, playing at St. Cloud State Friday evening (6:00 p.m.) and Concordia-St. Paul Saturday afternoon (4:00 p.m.).
