Sparked by five straight victories, the Chadron State wrestling team cruised to a 25-11 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual over Mesa State.
The Eagles, who had lost their last two duals to nationally ranked Nebraska-Kearney and Western State, fell behind early as Mesa State owned a quick 6-0 advantage following a forfeit at 125 pounds and Tyler Nelson’s 5-4 decision over Dustin Stodola at 133 to put the Mavericks up 9-0.
Jimmy Savala started the Eagles’ comeback with a 16-6 major decision over Bery Tack at 141. Phillip Bullington put the Eagles up for good with his pin of Pat Lehnan in the first period at 149. Bullington, earned his spot in the CSC lineup earlier in the week after a scrimmage.
