Nebraska US Senator Mike Johanns says he followed the rules on campaign appearances when he was U-S Ag Secretary under the Bush Administration. A report from the US Office of Special Counsel recently cited Johanns among top Bush officials who might have violated the law by appearing at political events in 2006. Johanns tells us, the U-S-D-A properly divided political activity from official business.
“All of that has been provided, my hope is that they are not intentionally hiding things and the problems that they claim were there just aren’t there.”
Johanns maintains that public documents easily show the USDA was reimbursed for travel expenses related to the political events.
