Coming off a huge upset win over Texas A & M, the Nebraska men came out flat and never recovered against a K-State team that was happy to be back home as the Huskers lost 69-53 in an uninspired game.
NU turned the ball over 22 times, the most this season. Kansas State had a lead of 13-10 with 12:41 left in the first half, when the Wildcats blew the game wide open with an 18-7 run and took a 31-17 lead into halftime.
Nebraska scored just four points in the final 9:20 of the first half. In the second half, things didn’t get better as K-State opened a 59-40 lead with just over seven minutes to play. NU cut the lead to 11, but Kansas State went 6-for-6 from the free throw line down the stretch to ice the game.
Lance Jeter scored a team high 16 points and center Jorge Brian Diaz, who just made it to the game after being delayed by weather coming back from Puerto Rico, added 10 points. Jacob Pullen finished with a game high 18 points and Curtis Kelly had 16 for the Wildcats.
