Nebraska has reached a settlement with one of the men cleared of a murder he didn’t commit.
Attorney General Jon Bruning today issued a statement regarding the settlement with Thomas Winslow. Bruning said Winslow served more than 13 years in prison for someone else’s crime and the settlement will allow Winslow to move on with his life.
Winslow received $180,000 dollars after serving time for the Helen Wilson murder in Beatrice in 1985. Last March, Winslow and four others cleared of Wilson’s murder filed lawsuits.
