State troopers seized more than 220 pounds of marijuana in two weekend traffic stops on Interstate 80. A trooper pulled over an SUV for following another vehicle too closely on I-80 near Lincoln Friday afternoon. A dog from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office detected the smell of drugs inside the SUV and a search revealed nearly 80 pounds of pot. The driver and a passenger, both from Massachusetts, were arrested. Later that night, another trooper pulled over a pickup for speeding near Kearney. A Kearney Police drug dog sniffed out 146 pounds of marijuana, hidden in several toolboxes in the bed of the pickup. The driver, a man from New Hampshire, was jailed.
