Nebraska quarterback recruit Bubba Starling took part in his high school’s signing day ceremony on Wednesday. Starling said one of the biggest reason’s he picked NU was that he could play football and baseball, but it’s because of his baseball skills that could keep him from coming to Nebraska.
Starling is the top rated high school baseball player in the nation by Baseball America and with recognitions like that, he could find himself a possible first round draft pick come June in MLB’s first year player draft.

Starling is a four-star football recruit according to Rivals.com and is ranked No. 6 on the site’s 2011 athlete prospect ranking after rushing for 2,417 yards and 31 touchdowns in leading Gardner Edgerton to an 11-1 record and the Kansas 5A state semifinals. His passing numbers aren’t spectacular, completing just 40 of 93 passes for 812 yards with eight touchdowns and six interceptions as a senior.
