A lawsuit settlement involving Dannon’s Activia Yogurt is benefiting food banks around the state. Attorney General Jon Bruning says a lawsuit was filed last December regarding false claims made by the company. At a morning news conference he is handing over $115 thousand dollars to the food bank of Lincoln. Scott Young is the Executive Director of the Lincoln Food Bank.
“If a child is going to be a successful adult, that starts early on and hunger is a huge issue for impoverished families and generational poverty.”
Bruning is also presenting the food bank of the heartland in Omaha with $225 thousand dollars of settlement Money. Bruning says instead of giving three or six bucks back to consumers, he is giving the money to the hungry in the state.
