The Nebraska women’s track and field team won its final Big 12 Indoor Championships by beating four-time defending champ, Texas A & M, 115.5-101. The Huskers also picked up four individual titles including a two in the long and triple jumps from freshman Mara Griva.
The NU women hold a conference best six indoor titles as the wins pile up for legendary head coach Gary Pepin. In his 31 years, he now holds 67 conference titles. Pepin’s program has won a Big 8/Big 12 best 23 track and field titles, which also makes him the second winningest coach in Big 12 history across all sports. Pepin only trails Colorado’s Mark Wetmore, who has 24 conference titles as the head coach of CU’s men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs.
