Other Senators are asking heated questions of Senator Charlie Janssen of Fremont about possible problems with his anti illegal immigration bill. The bill does several things mainly forcing those stopped by police to prove residency. Senator Mcgill says immigrants could leave the state if this bill is passed.
“They’ve honestly in some cases kept parts of rural Nebraska alive by buying from people who were born and raised here legally.”
Janssen says illegal immigration is a drain on Nebraska’s economy.
