The goal of every Bo Pelini spring practice is to lay the building blocks for the upcoming season. That is so important this spring with new offensive coordinator Tim Beck setting the stage after the first two of 15 spring practices.
The nice weather allowed NU to split practice time between the Hawks Championship Center and the outdoor practice fields. Monday’s two-hour and 15-minute workout took place in shorts and helmets. The Huskers will put on the pads for the first time on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wednesday workout will be Nebraska’s final practice before players adjourn for Spring Break. Before leaving campus, the squad will work out on Thursday and Friday, then return to the practice field on Monday, March 28.
“We have a lot to accomplish,” Pelini said. “We want to spend our time laying a really solid foundation going into the fall. I thought there were a lot of good things. Believe me, we have a lot of work to do, we have a long ways to go.”
