Senator Abbie Cornett last week proposed a bill that would allow lawmakers to raise taxes if they could not cut the budget in other ways. Senator Pete Pirsch of Omaha has a different idea. He says lower taxes and businesses and people will come here.
“I think that we will actually end up with both companies and people move to the state and people that would actually move from the state end up staying here.”
The state is facing a nearly one billion dollar shortfall.
