“It is somewhat taxing but we do have our homicide unit set up where officers are on call or on specific shifts to help spread out these cases.”
This murder is extremely taxing for many people as it happened in broad daylight at a busy city park. There were many people playing frisbee, walking their dogs and school baseball games taking place nearby. Witnesses say this shooting started as an argument when one man got out of a vehicle with some type of tool. Another person got out of a different vehicle, drew a gun and the two men started darting in between cars. One witness says the suspect continued to fire shots when the victim was on the ground.
After the shooting, the suspect and others got into a vehicle and took off. There was an extensive search following the gunfire that resulted in one arrest. The search for the gunman continues.
