A new community development project is coming to Fremont. Brad Nelson is with Nelson Partners and is the developer of Fremont Commons.
“It is a 120 acre mixed development with retail, residential, entertainment, restaurants.”
Nelson says this new development will sit east of Fremont.
“Centered around a 25-acre lake and park. It is right at the intersection at Highways 30 and 275,000 right at the gateway to Fremont.”
Nelson says this project includes plenty of residential space for new homes and for those who prefer apartment living.
“We’ve got about 120 single family home sites. A couple hundred apartments. Opportunities for senior living facilities. 250,000 square feet of retail.”
Nelson says they are developing their time table for construction.
“We should be breaking ground in about a year. Twelve months after that we will open the initial phase.”
Nelson says Fremont Commons will be the gateway to the Fremont commercial district which will link Norfolk, Blair, Valley, Waterloo, Elkhorn and northwest Omaha to Fremont. This new development is important to the future of the area as it will bring new jobs and economic vitality to the community.
