Wayne State College moved up one spot to eighth in the latest NCAA Division II Softball Central Regional Rankings released this afternoon (Wednesday) by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Wildcats are 18-9 overall and 12-7 against teams within the Central Region that is made up of teams in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in games played as of April 6th.
Minnesota State claims the top spot in this week’s poll followed by Winona State, Augustana and Concordia- St. Paul. Colorado School of Mines, the highest rated Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team. is ranked fifth in this week’s poll followed by Metro State, Southwest Minnesota State, Wayne State, Regis and Adams State. The top eight teams in the region at the end of the regular season qualify for the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
