Nebraska’s athletic department unveiled its architectural plans for the $63.5 million expansion of Memorial Stadium’s east side. The plans include the additions of two 20,000-square-feet academic wings. One will be called the Nebraska Athletic Research Facility, focusing on injuries and ailments related to athletics. The other, the Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior, will provide one central location for researchers currently spread across the campus. At the completion of construction, Memorial Stadium will be just outside of the top 10 largest college football venues. Nebraska has sold out a nation-leading 311 games in a row.
