Many are starting to wonder if Mother Nature has looked at the calendar. We are now in the last half of the month but old man winter isn’t giving up. Kathy Zapotockny is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Valley and says snow was spotted this morning in parts of the state.
“Some snow toward Bloomfield and we have thunderstorms rumbling across east-centeral-south-east Nebraska into southwest Iowa.”
Zapotockny says while snow fell in Bloomfield, storms rumbled across other parts of the state bringing thunder, lightning and even hail.
“We had some dime sized hail reported by Crete early this morning.”
Zapotockny says more areas of the state could experience snow.
“We have had some reports of snow accumulation in Knox County and we will look for that snow to move a little bit south.”
As we get ready to celebrate Easter Sunday, Zapotockny says you may want to get a coat that matches that Easter bonnet.
“We may be looking at Easter Sunday to see some 60’s.”
Chilly and wet conditions are expected for the rest of the week.
