Meteorologist Brian Smith, at the National Weather Service office in Valley, says storm season is nearly upon us.
“Most of the storm tracks and low pressure systems have gone further south, into the Deep South, and that’s what’s caused all the trouble,” Smith says. “We’re coming into our biggest months for severe weather. I’m sure by mid-May, usually right around the 20th of May through about June 30th is when our peak severe weather season occurs.”
