La Vista Police were called to the G. Stanley Hall Elementary School on South 72nd Street this morning after the received calls about a man who was waving a knife at passing cars. Police Chief Bob Lausten says the man was found in a nearby park and was questioned.
“He was upset with cars going up 72nd Street. No kids were ever in danger but the situation is obviously is out of the ordinary.”
Chief Lausten says the man explained to officers why he was waving the knife.
“Man admitted to waving the knife at cars that were going up and down 72nd Street he thought were speeding.”
The school went into a modified lockdown until the man was taken into custody.
